We aim to provide you with the step-up you need to enter into the future you dream of, be that in law or elsewhere.
About Us
Each year we offer events tailored to improve the employability of attendees and make a lasting difference to your experience of University. We aim to guide our members to reach their maximum potential. Some of our events have an academic focus such as our Mooting, Negotiations and External Competitions as well as our flagship law summit which focuses on providing members with an opportunity to engage with firms from all over the country and the world as well as professionals that can show the reality of high-flying in the legal field.
However, whilst we have a strong career focus which is emphasised through the events mentioned, as well as those hosted by our Careers and Academic officers, which provide students with opportunities to network with practitioners and professionals alike in their chosen area, we also host a variety of other activities that are more socially focused to keep our members entertained throughout the year, such as our annual Law Ball, regular socials and not to forget our netball and a football teams.
Our Executive Team
President - Hannah Jones
The primary representative for the society to external bodies, the Law School and Student Union
Vice President - Carter Bennett
In charge of the day-to-day running of the society, works and helps other officers on tasks when needed, supports the President
General Secretary - Millie Dickens
Arranges executive committee meetings, books rooms for events, responsible for making sure all events are LUSU compliant
Treasurer - Jakub Ludvik
Handles finances for the society, creates a yearly budget, helps the President in creating sponsorship agreements
Social Secretaries - Darcey Dougall and Haider Nasser
Organise social events throughout the year, plans the annual Law Ball
Careers Officer - Chloe Green
Arranges Career events, organises a large-scale careers event (Careers Dinner), the main contact for signposting career relevant services
Academic Officer - Gianluca Getchev
Organises Academic related talks for members, the main contact for signposting academic relevant services (LAWS & CLAWS)
Digital Content Officer - Anna Liu and Anna Medvid
Edits and maintains the website, creates posts for socials, works with the Law School for promotion (Weekly Roundup)
External Officer - Erica Grecu
The main contact for signing up the Law Society to external competitions, organises teams for external competitions
Negotiations Officer - Aliyah Turner
Organises the internal negotiations competition, sources judges it, works closely with the external officer
Pro-Bono Officer - Alice Hudspeth
Organises talks regarding the importance of pro-bono, facilitates opportunities for members, organises events in the local community
EDI & Welfare Officers - Ruby Roger and Grace Muyulu
Takes charge in matters relating to diversity, inclusivity and welfare within the society, organises welfare events and drop-in sessions
Sports Officer - Kieran Mabazza
Recruits and sorts teams for the society, organises sessions and games with other societies and universities
Netball Captain - Robyn Henderson
Mooting Officer - Rowan Jora
Runs the internal mooting competition, works closely with the external officer
Bar Officer - Emma Higham and Mahmoud Ismail
Promotes the Bar, organises barrister-related events and trips, the main contact for Bar-related services
